Latest Update From the Printer & Night Wolf #5 Cover Art
about 3 years ago – Mon, Mar 29, 2021 at 07:25:31 PM

Good afternoon my Wolf Pack!

On Friday, I received an update from my printer rep, Sam. To quickly sum it up, she estimates that the books won't be ready to ship from the printer until the end of April. The reason being is because a custom book like this, with many moving parts, is going to take more time and attention. Sam and I both agree that we want to create an amazing book for you, and to get everything perfect, so they need to take extra steps for quality control. For instance, the die cut issue, they had to pivot and try another process to get the cut just right. Another example is making sure the vellum sheet lines up just right once everything is bound.  In the meantime, I hope you have enjoyed reading the Night Wolf Volume 1 digital copy that I sent you a few months ago. I'm sorry that I don't have better news for you, and I truly appreciate your continued patience. If you would like to read the full email in detail you can see a screenshot of it below.

Since the Night Wolf Volume 1 trade paperback fulfillment is behind schedule, it is also throwing my Night Wolf Issue 5 (a Spring launch) and Snow Paw Issue 1 (a Summer launch) Kickstarter dates off track as well. If you recall from my last update the Night Wolf Issue 5 prelaunch page is already live, and the issue is almost finished. Below is an exclusive FIRST TIME sneak peek at the finished Night Wolf Issue 5 cover by Carlos Herrera! As you can imagine from seeing this amazing cover, I am super excited to get this book out into your hands as well.

Which leads me to some hard decisions that I have to make, but I want to know your thoughts on the matter because I respect your opinions. Do I launch before the trades come in, launch while I am fulfilling the trades, or launch right after I finish the trade fulfillment? Since I use a different domestic printer for my single issues I could potentially have this issue printed and delivered around the same time as the Night Wolf Volume 1 and fulfill them together, if I launch the Night Wolf Issue 5 Kickstarter by the end of April. However, I wouldn't do that unless you were onboard with that decision. Therefore, I set up a Google Forms survey to get your thoughts on new rewards just for you, new apparel choices, when I should launch the Night Wolf Issue 5 Kickstarter, and more. Click here to take the NWV1 Wolf Pack Member survey. I appreciate any feedback you have for me because we are in this creative journey together!

Thank you again for being a part of my Wolf Pack, taking the survey, and for your continued patience!

Update From the Printer & Night Wolf Issue 5
about 3 years ago – Thu, Mar 18, 2021 at 01:12:55 AM

Happy Werewolf Wednesday and St. Patrick's Day my Wolf Pack!

I hope you are having a great week so far! This week has been a crazy one for me! I have so many fires burning right now it’s getting a little rough to manage them all! Fear not, I work well under pressure! I've been trying to keep busy while I wait for the Night Wolf Volume 1 trade paperbacks to arrive from the printer. Otherwise, I would drive myself crazy.

Speaking of the printer, I have some updates from my rep, Sam. She said that as of right now, the team has been testing out the die-cut. They are having issues with the sharp ends cutting clean - so currently troubleshooting that. They may need to widen/thicken up those areas of the claw marks if they can't get a clean cut. Production is trying out a different method of die cutting (laser die) before they make any modifications to the artwork. These custom books take a bit more time to manufacture with all the different processes, so I thank you again for your continued patience.

In the meantime, while we have been waiting for the books to arrive, one of the projects that I have been working on is preparing for the Night Wolf Issue 5 Kickstarter launch. Carlos is just over half way down with illustrating the pages and Gat is catching up to him with the colors. While they have been working hard on the issue 5 art, I have started working on the Kickstarter page design. I still have a lot to do before it goes live, but my prelaunch page is up.Click here to visit Night Wolf #5 Pre-Launch page, and hit the "NOTIFY ME ON LAUNCH" button, so you can be notified by Kickstarter via email or through a push notification when the Kickstarter project goes live. I'm tentatively planning to go live this April after I finish the volume 1 trade paperback fulfillment.

Sneak Peek At Night Wolf Issue 5 Variant Cover by Thomas Tenney

I have some great new cover art lined up to accompany Carlos Herrera's standard retail cover art for the campaign. I have the roughs back from 3 of the covers that you can see throughout this update. One in particular that I am very honored to share is the sneak peek by Thomas Tenney. Thomas is a 35 year plus comic book illustrator. His work has appeared in titles from Comico, Now, DC, Image and Marvel comics. Titles include Robotech, Terminator, Force Works, Iron Man, Chapel and more. Thomas has also done art for rock legends AC/DC and the hit Shudder series, Creepshow. Thomas has graciously contributed new variant cover for Night Wolf Issue 5.

Thank you so much for being a part of my Wolf Pack! I hope you have enjoyed these gorgeous Night Wolf Issue 5 cover WIPs! Enjoy the rest of your day! Click here to visit Night Wolf #5 Pre-Launch page!

Good evening my Wolf Pack!

The Night Wolf Volume 1 trade paperback digital printing proofs have been approved, and I have just signed a huge check that is now on it's way to Printlore! In the mean time if you are itching for some new reading material, here are great projects that are now live on Kickstarter and IndieGoGo for your viewing pleasure!

Looking For More Great Stories?

Hybrids: The Killing Field Part 1

Hybrids is an action/adventure story set around the advent of a new super human species.  It includes theories surrounding the NEPHILIM and ANCIENT ALIENS set against the discovery of a new drug and human trafficking ring. Hybrids: The Sons of Gods " The Killing Field" Part 1 is a 32 page self-cover (28 content pages) full-color standard size comic book by my friend, Luke Stone! Click here to check out the IndieGoGo page!

Flytrap: A Time Travel Comic Adventure

A 60 page one shot. Confronted by his future self, Albert must go back to stop the 1986 remake of "The Fly" from destroying the world. The Terminator meets Back to the Future trapped in the Twilight Zone in this often funny, sometimes serious, mind-bending, one-shot adventure through time and space by my friend, Caleb Thusat! Click here to check out the Kickstarter page!

Seed Seekers Great Big World book 1

What happens when our hero Ian misses his family?  How can he cope?  Will he go back/ will he stay?  Wait, who IS Ian?  good question.  He’s a hero, and like many of us he is just a typical person who discovers that he is much more to another world.  He holds a power that many cherish in another dimension, and with the wealth of his new friends he discovers he is much more. A great fantasy story by my friend, Martha Schwartz! Click here to check out the Kickstarter page!

Everlasting Survivors Volume 1 Graphic Novel

Fear is what keeps good men from being great men. We’ve all faced a situation where we saw someone who needed our help, and yet we did nothing because of our biological imperative for self-preservation. Our heart knows what’s right - our brain knows what’s smart, and ultimately the brain wins out every time death is a possibility. But what if death was no longer a factor? Would we then always do what was right, now that we’re free from mortal consequence? Everlasting Survivors explores these questions, among other topics not yet fully examined by the comic book medium. Click here to check out the IndieGoGo page!

Thank you so much for continuing this creative journey with me! I hope you have a great rest of your day!

If for some reason you didn't receive your digital rewards, message me, and I will figure out what happened as soon as possible.

IndieGoGo In-Demand For Night Wolf Vol 1?

Lately, I've seen other creators run successful Kickstarters and then run an IndieGoGo In-Demand for pre-sales afterwards. I've been considering trying one out for Night Wolf Volume 1. I still intend to use Kickstarter as my primary crowdfunding source. The idea behind my using IGG In-Demand is, since we don't know if Comic Cons will be back anytime soon, I want to share my current books with a new audience in order to help fund the art for my next few issues to run more Kickstarters. So, the question I have for you is should I run an IndieGoGo In-Demand pre-sale for Night Wolf Vol 1?Here is the link to the Facebook Poll if you want to let me know what you think. I would really appreciate your thoughts on the matter.
